filming (construction)

We finished off the filming today with the final shots that we needed for the chorus part of the video and have edited it together which completes the filming part of our video which leaves the editing part which would finish off the film.

filming (construction)

We had to return to raf upwood on tuesday the 22nd as we didn't get enough footage from the first time we went. This went well and we ended up getting a lot of important shots for the final peice, however because of extraneous problems some of our original cast members couldn't come and witht the final deadline for the production so close we decided that we would go ahead with the filming without these characters which meant that the storyboard had to be adapted in order to make account for these absences which was difficult but we agreed that it was important for us to get the footage which we could mingle with the old film and still create the same effect that we wanted. We decided to film the main chorus part of the video in a diffrent indoor location to the rest of the film which would put more emphasis on this part, we think this would keep with the conventions of other music videos also as the chorus is repetitive and so the video is also repetitve along isde this and in a location that seperates itself from the other clips. We also decided this because of the fact that we couldn't find a very good location that would be appropriate in raf upwood

New location (research)

We decided to change the location for our main peice because we didn't want to have the film done in school grounds after hearing that many other students do this, also we wanted to make the film a bit more rebellious and energetic which wasn't possible at school where we would have to fit filming around lesson times and comply with stricter rules and regulatons of behaviour and appearance. This is why we went out and found a different place which was derelict and abandoned and would suit more to our needs being as it had no rules and would be easier to film on a larger scale. We also think that the place gives off the right image for our film as it has a broken and rustic feel and as it is abandoned it fits with the same sort of frame of mind that we were trying to create as the song is called frauds and the people wear masks asif frauds themselves in everyday life and the idea of abandoning society or trying to rebel against norms with frustrated violence.

We took a few photos of the main places that we decided to film but there were many other places that could be used. The areas are mostly derelict and destroyed and so we had to be careful when moving around and made sure to take care around some of teh more dangerous places.

The website (ancillary)

http://scarletharlotsweb.weebly.com/

This is the link to the finished website which includes the photos we took and some other information, we did want to have a link which would play some of the music from the band on it but the link wouldn't work because this would cost and the school couldn't pay for it. Underneath is an image of what the image looks like.

The website photoshoot (planning)

We did a photoshoot for our website because we wanted one good picture that would be big and take up most of the page. we got the idea to use paper cranes from our main theme being animals and a rustic and papery feel that we had on our digipak, we were keen to keep this going and decided to have some paper cranes hanging from the ceiling and have the main character as the focus of the photo because we didn't want to overcrowd the image with too many people but just get the main theme of the mask idea across that we've had in all the other parts and as this character was the leader it was more appropriate to have him.

The image has the main character in what seems to be a state of discomfort that keeps with the general theme that he is not in control or is in some way angry or unstable about his situation.
